If you're trying to make money on the internet, the best thing you can do is get your website ranked on the first page of search results for the major search engines.
Why?
Because, ranking on the first page of results gives you the opportunity to get quality traffic to your money-making offer, without costing you any money!
This means that any sales you make off of a free website ranking is pure, 100% profit!!!
But then that begs the question: How do you do it?
After all, search engines are confusing! They're always changing, and they rely on super-high-tech algorithms that are top secret to rank websites.
Right? Right?
Well... sort of. Yes, search engines are always changing, and they are run by top secret mathematical equations that try and deliver the most relevant results to their searchers.
However - search engines are NOT complicated.

Okay, so what do you need to know about the search engines? Well, you have to learn what I call the "Secret Sauce" of search engine domination.
The Secret Sauce is composed of a number of different factors the search engines look at to determine how relevant your website is for a particular keyword.
Some of these factors are:
Page Title File Name Contextual Links
There are more factors that go into the secret sauce, but these are the easiest to understand.
First is the page title. If you do a search in Google, and look at the results, the title of the page is the first big, blue hyperlink you'll see.
Search engines believe that if a keyword is in the title of the webpage, then that webpage must be relevant to the search query. So they will rank those pages higher than pages that don't have the keyword in the page title.
Next, look at the file name. This is the name of the actual HTML file of the webpage. For instance, most homepages have the file name "index.html". But if you name your file after the keyword you want to rank for, then the search engines will believe it to be more relevant.
So if you're looking to rank for the keyword "flowers", you'd want to name your webpage flowers.html.
Having your keyword in the actual file name of your page will signal to the search engines that your page is probably relevant to that keyword.
Finally, there are contextual links. There are hyperlinks within the content of your website that allow search engines to crawl through your entire website.
When you know how to link to your own pages, using relevant keyword text in the links, the search engines will determine that the page you are linking to are relevant to the keywords in the links.
So if you link to your flowers page from your homepage using the keyword "Flowers", that will help the search engines determine the relevancy of that page to that link.

How to make visitor into buyer
When you go to all the trouble of creating a website (whether it is a static site or a blog) to make money, you want it to do just that. By the way, while some people feel that the internet is some sacred place that should be free of commerce, I am not one of those. There are plenty of free things available online and there is plenty of room for profitable activities as well. Don't be ashamed, there's nothing wrong with making money online.
Back to the main idea here: you want to make money online and that means getting your website visitors to convert to sales. It has been proven time and again that the best way to do this is to develop a relationship with your potential buyers. And the best way to develop an online relationship is with a mailing list.
Why? Because ...without a list, you've got nothing. You've got no authority (no other partners will approach you to do deals where you can make instant money). You've got no instant traffic (meaning you'll have to re-spend that advertising budget, rewrite another bunch of articles, or redo whatever it currently takes to get you traffic.)
So it's clear that having a list of people ready and willing to hear your sales pitch is any sales person's dream. And because the internet is so huge, there are plenty of places to find these people. But how do you do it? After all, it's one thing saying "Build a list!", but it can often be harder actually doing it. Some people spend years building a solid list of people, with only a small portion of that list actually buying anything from them.
The fact is email marketing is truly powerful in the right hands yet completely lost in the wrong hands. Just like most things I suppose. The obvious fact is that unless you've got a responsive list of people who are willing to actually buy what you offer to them through your email promotions, then you're simply dead in the water like most other marketers.
So how should you approach building a list of buyers who aren't just your usual tire kicker, freebie seekers?
There is plenty of free advice on the issue. You will find an abundance of it if you just Google the search phrase "how to build an email list" You can also learn a ton by visiting online marketing forums and the like. There is plenty of free information out there.
Unfortunately, free information rarely comes with any structure so you may feel really overwhelmed or even frustrated once you find it all. Another way to approach the issue is to purchase a system to learn the secrets of effective list building. Even this can be hard, though, because there are many programs available so you may have to search around some to find the one that is best for you.
One of the most recent programs to teach list building comes from an old time online marketer, Michael Rasmussen and is called "Get More Buyers." You can find out about that program on line. Of course before buying any program, read a good review and try to find testimonials if possible. if you were to think of a few ways to make cash at home, what would they be. Most people never really give this too much thought but if they would they could come up with quite a few if given enough time. Here are just a few examples.
There will be work involved, just so I don't unintentially mislead you. There are websites, which you may have seen, claiming you can get rich on the Internet and not do any work. This simply is not true.
1. Starting your own Internet business is one way you can make cash at home. Because the Internet offers so many different ways to do it this is an excellent way to create a profit for you.
Whatever website you choose to build your business with, you will need to learn how to promote it. You'll also need to sell products that people have an interest in, or in need for.
The nice thing is the Internet it does not discriminate against you based on your current situation. There are people making money at home regardless of their current income situation, their race, their sex, education level, and these sorts of things.
2. One way you can make fast cash at home is to provide a service for Internet marketers. For example there is a tremendous need for people to set up blogs for Internet marketers who do not have one of their own already.
Another thing you could do is write content for blog owners. Because they don't have content to post, there are millions of blogs right now sitting dormant. Still one final example would be to develop graphics for website and blog owners.
A whole new world of potential ways to make cash at home providing services such as these because of the internet.
3. Do you have a certain thing that interests you or you have a passion for? Perhaps you have a hobby that you'd like to turn into an income stream! It will always seem easier, and never like work if you enjoy what you are doing.
